Requirements

Certification Requirements

There are three (3) progressive levels of certification. Leader experience, education, and competence is required for each certification.

Resilience-Building Leadership Professional (RBLP)
RBLP certification is for front-line supervisors that meet identified standards of competence for building resilient teams. RBLP applicants must meet one of the education and experience requirements below.

  • High school diploma or global equivalency plus five (5) years of full-time leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years of full-time leadership experience
  • Applicable professional development training and other professional certifications may be considered as mitigation for up to 40% of the five (5) years of leadership experience requirement.
  • U.S. Military personnel and veterans at paygrades 01, W1, and E4.

Resilience-Building Leadership Professional Coach (RBLP-C)
RBLP-C certification is for middle managers that meet identified standards of competence for building resilient teams and facilitating team learning. RBLP-C applicants must meet one of the education and experience requirements below.

  • High school diploma or global equivalency plus fifteen (15) years of full-time leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree plus twelve (12) years of full-time leadership experience.
  • Graduate degree plus nine (9) years of full-time leadership experience.
  • Applicable professional development training and other professional certifications may be considered as mitigation for up to 40% of the fifteen (15) years of leadership experience requirement.
  • U.S. Military personnel and veterans at paygrades 03, W2, and E6.

Resilience-Building Leadership Professional Trainer (RBLP-T)
RBLP-T certification is for senior leaders that meet identified standards of competence for building resilient teams, facilitating team learning, and supporting organizational learning. RBLP-T applicants must meet the education and experience requirement below.

  • High school diploma or global equivalency plus twenty-five (25) years of full-time leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree plus twenty (20) years of full-time leadership experience.
  • Graduate degree plus fifteen (15) years of full-time leadership experience.
  • Applicable professional development training and other professional certifications may be considered as mitigation for up to 40% of the twenty-five (25) years of leadership experience requirement.
  • U.S. Military personnel and veterans at paygrades 04, W3, and E8.

Recertification Requirements

Maintenance of an RBLP certification requires recertification every three (3) years.

Recertification at the same level

  • Submit a recertification application.
  • Submit documentation for thirty-six (36) hours of leadership training/education provided by an employer, the Resilience-Building Leader Program, or another reputable training/education organization over the previous three (3) years.
  • Pay a recertification fee of 25% of the applicable certification exam cost at the time of recertification.

Recertification at the next higher level

  • Submit a recertification application.
  • Pass the applicable oral exam.
  • Pay a recertification fee of 80% of the applicable certification exam cost at the time of recertification.
