At RBLP we constantly strive to reach nonprofit organizations doing exemplary work through our Giving Back program, offering professional leadership certifications at no cost. We’re very proud to announce that Gap4Lyfe Mentorship Program in Richmond, VA is our latest nonprofit endeavor.
Formed in 2011, Gap4Lyfe’s goal is to positively influence fatherless young men in the Greater Richmond community. Supporting males ages 10 – 17, their adult male mentors seek to expose these youths to positive images and experiences that will establish a foundation for success.
The vision of Gap4Lyfe (Grooming And Preparing For Life) is to foster the growth and development of fatherless, young men through structured and trusting relationships. Their mission is to serve as positive influences while engaging fatherless, young men in activities that build strong moral character. Guiding their mission are our four unique core pillars: Social Development, Education, Personal Development, and Cultural Enrichment. Through each of these tenets, the mentors seek to increase self-esteem, efficacy, positive peer relationships, and prosocial behaviors through quality-enriched experiences that encourage healthy lifestyles and teach the basic principles of adulthood.
Gap4Lyfe’s mentees are strategically matched with an adult male mentor who is trained in mentoring millennials from various socioeconomic backgrounds and committed to dedicating a minimum of three hours each month sharing positive outlets guided by the four core pillars. The program also provides instructional and recreational activities that include My Life Matters workshops with a focus on personal development; college and university tours; basketball games; trips to museums; and the annual Gentlemen’s Luncheon, a banquet honoring Gap4Lyfe mentees’ achievements in education, athletics, and community service.

Taking care of our community is a core value at the Resilience-Building Leader Program. Our primary Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative is to provide RBLP exam prep training and leadership certifications to front-line supervisors, middle managers, and senior leaders at selected charitable nonprofit organizations at no cost.
