Our mission at Resilience-Building Leader Program (RBLP) is to certify leaders in building and leading resilient teams in the workplace. Since our founding in 2018, we have issued thousands of leader certifications.
Why? Getting the work done can be hard in any organization, and sometimes, it can be really hard. Resilient teams thrive in challenging environments because they can overcome adversity, adapt, and grow together.
Leaders build resilient teams by creating a positive climate, developing cohesion, and providing purpose. Building resilient teams makes team learning possible. Team learning is the foundation of organizational learning and change.
Getting certified is a structured learning and assessment experience that improves leadership abilities. Earning a leader certification will introduce you to new ideas and concepts. Gaining a comprehensive understanding of leader tasks will instill a greater sense of confidence in yourself.

Where do RBLP certified leaders work?
RBLP is our core leader certification. This certification is for managers responsible for one or more team’s morale, teamwork, motivation, and commitment. People who earn this certification can build and lead resilient teams.
Exam prep course required | 1.5-hour oral exam
RBLP-C is our coach certification. This certification is for managers with organizational improvement, innovation, and problem-solving responsibilities. Managers who earn this certification can coach teams through the experiential learning cycle.
Exam prep course required | 2.5-hour oral exam
RBLP-T is our trainer certification. This certification is for senior managers with organizational learning and development (L&D) responsibilities. Senior managers who earn this certification can teach authorized training courses that prepare people for the RBLP series of leader certification exams.
Exam prep course required | 3.5-hour oral exam
Our local partners teach the instructor-led Building and Leading Resilient Teams courses (3, 5, and 7 modules) that prepare you for the RBLP, RBLP-C, and RBLP-T certification exams. The partners below offer online courses with flexible start dates and schedules. Most also offer one-on-one training.

We developed the self-paced, online Leadership Fundamentals Course specifically for college students. This course will make you a better leader and more competitive for internships and jobs.
This course introduces college students to 21 core leadership tasks that everyone entering the workforce should understand. Course topics include Creating a Positive Climate, Developing Cohesion, and Providing Purpose. Audio versions of the lessons and bonus video content are also included.
The course cost is only $145. Complete the course to earn a certificate and digital badge.
The Hudson-Bergen-Passaic Counties NJ metro area, nestled in the northeastern part of New Jersey, forms a vital component of the greater New York-Newark-Jersey City, NY-NJ-PA metropolitan region. These three counties, with a combined area of approximately 465 square miles, are home to a population of over 2.1 million people. The area is a key economic and cultural zone that includes significant cities like Jersey City, Hackensack, and Paterson, each contributing distinctively to the area’s identity and dynamism.
Geographically, the Hudson-Bergen-Passaic metro area features a diverse landscape. Hudson County, with its eastern border along the Hudson River, offers spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline and includes Jersey City, one of the fastest-growing cities in the area. Bergen County, located directly to the north of Hudson, combines suburban residential areas with bustling commercial districts, while Passaic County, with the city of Paterson as its seat, is characterized by more varied terrain including urban centers, suburban communities, and some rural outposts.
The economy of this metro area is robust, driven by sectors such as finance, healthcare, retail, and manufacturing. Hudson County hosts part of the New Jersey Gold Coast, which has significant financial institutions and burgeoning tech startups. Major employers in Bergen County include large corporations such as Hackensack Meridian Health, one of the largest healthcare providers in the state, and Becton Dickinson, a leading global medical technology company. Passaic County’s economy is bolstered by manufacturing and retail, with Paterson historically known as the “Silk City” for its role in silk production in the 19th century.
Education in the area is served by numerous esteemed institutions. In Hudson County, Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken is renowned for its engineering and science programs. Bergen County offers a range of educational opportunities through institutions like Fairleigh Dickinson University, which has campuses in Teaneck and Hackensack. Passaic County is home to William Paterson University in Wayne, offering a variety of programs in arts, sciences, and business.
Culturally, the Hudson-Bergen-Passaic metro area is rich and vibrant. The area hosts numerous cultural institutions and events that reflect its diverse population. The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in nearby Newark provides world-class entertainment including music, dance, and theater. The annual Jersey City Art & Studio Tour showcases local artists and galleries. In Bergen County, the Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood offers a range of performances that cater to diverse audiences.
Sports are also an integral part of the local culture, although the area itself does not host major professional teams. However, it lies close to sports venues in the neighboring areas, including MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, where the NFL’s New York Giants and New York Jets play. Local sports teams at the college and high school levels are enthusiastically supported throughout the counties.
Major attractions in the area include the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, which offers interactive exhibits and the largest planetarium in the Western Hemisphere. The historic Paterson Great Falls, a national historical park in Passaic County, offers stunning natural beauty and a glimpse into America’s industrial past. Bergen County’s extensive park system provides ample outdoor recreation opportunities, from hiking and biking to organized sports in beautifully maintained settings.
