Our mission at Resilience-Building Leader Program (RBLP) is to certify leaders in building and leading resilient teams in the workplace. Since our founding in 2018, we have issued thousands of leader certifications.
Why? Getting the work done can be hard in any organization, and sometimes, it can be really hard. Resilient teams thrive in challenging environments because they can overcome adversity, adapt, and grow together.
Leaders build resilient teams by creating a positive climate, developing cohesion, and providing purpose. Building resilient teams makes team learning possible. Team learning is the foundation of organizational learning and change.
Getting certified is a structured learning and assessment experience that improves leadership abilities. Earning a leader certification will introduce you to new ideas and concepts. Gaining a comprehensive understanding of leader tasks will instill a greater sense of confidence in yourself.

Where do RBLP certified leaders work?
RBLP is our core leader certification. This certification is for managers responsible for one or more team’s morale, teamwork, motivation, and commitment. People who earn this certification can build and lead resilient teams.
Exam prep course required | 1.5-hour oral exam
RBLP-C is our coach certification. This certification is for managers with organizational improvement, innovation, and problem-solving responsibilities. Managers who earn this certification can coach teams through the experiential learning cycle.
Exam prep course required | 2.5-hour oral exam
RBLP-T is our trainer certification. This certification is for senior managers with organizational learning and development (L&D) responsibilities. Senior managers who earn this certification can teach authorized training courses that prepare people for the RBLP series of leader certification exams.
Exam prep course required | 3.5-hour oral exam
Our local partners teach the instructor-led Building and Leading Resilient Teams courses (3, 5, and 7 modules) that prepare you for the RBLP, RBLP-C, and RBLP-T certification exams. The partners below offer online courses with flexible start dates and schedules. Most also offer one-on-one training.

We developed the self-paced, online Leadership Fundamentals Course specifically for college students. This course will make you a better leader and more competitive for internships and jobs.
This course introduces college students to 21 core leadership tasks that everyone entering the workforce should understand. Course topics include Creating a Positive Climate, Developing Cohesion, and Providing Purpose. Audio versions of the lessons and bonus video content are also included.
The course cost is only $145. Complete the course to earn a certificate and digital badge.
The Seattle-Bellevue WA metro area, encompassing King County, represents one of the most influential and dynamic areas in the Pacific Northwest. Part of the greater Seattle-Tacoma, WA, metropolitan region, it covers approximately 4,202 square miles and houses a population of around 3.1 million people. Seattle is the central hub, while Bellevue, located across Lake Washington from Seattle, plays a significant role in the area’s economic and cultural landscape.
Geographically, the area features a striking mix of forested areas and large bodies of water like Puget Sound and Lake Washington, as well as the rugged terrain of the nearby Cascade and Olympic Mountain ranges. This diverse landscape supports various outdoor activities and significantly influences local lifestyles and the economy.
Economically, the Seattle-Bellevue metro area boasts a robust and diversified economy with strong foundations in technology, aerospace, and retail. Major employers include tech giants Amazon and Microsoft, which are headquartered in the area and provide thousands of high-tech jobs. The aerospace industry, led by Boeing and having multiple facilities in the area, also plays a critical role in the local economy. Additionally, the global retail conglomerate Costco has its headquarters in Issaquah, a suburb of Seattle.
Educational opportunities are plentiful and of high caliber within the metro area. The University of Washington, located in Seattle, is a leading research institution that offers a wide range of programs from undergraduate to doctoral levels, particularly strong in medicine, engineering, and law. Bellevue College and Seattle University also contribute to the area’s educational environment, offering varied programs that meet the needs of local students and professionals.
Culturally, the Seattle-Bellevue area has many museums, theaters, and galleries. The Seattle Art Museum, the Museum of Pop Culture, and the Bellevue Arts Museum provide cultural insights and artistic expression from local, national, and international artists. The area’s music scene is legendary, having birthed famous music movements like grunge, and it continues to thrive with a vibrant live music scene.
Sports are deeply embedded in the local culture, with professional teams such as the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks, MLB’s Seattle Mariners, and MLS’s Seattle Sounders enjoying fervent local support. The recent addition of the NHL’s Seattle Kraken expanded the local sports scene, bringing hockey fans to the new Climate Pledge Arena at Seattle Center.
Major attractions in the Seattle-Bellevue metro area include the iconic Space Needle, which offers panoramic views of the cityscape and surrounding natural beauty. Pike Place Market, known for its vibrant atmosphere and fresh produce, is a popular spot among locals and tourists alike. The Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibit showcases Dale Chihuly’s studio glass.
