Our mission at Resilience-Building Leader Program (RBLP) is to certify leaders in building and leading resilient teams in the workplace. Since our founding in 2018, we have issued thousands of leader certifications.
Why? Getting the work done can be hard in any organization, and sometimes, it can be really hard. Resilient teams thrive in challenging environments because they can overcome adversity, adapt, and grow together.
Leaders build resilient teams by creating a positive climate, developing cohesion, and providing purpose. Building resilient teams makes team learning possible. Team learning is the foundation of organizational learning and change.
Getting certified is a structured learning and assessment experience that improves leadership abilities. Earning a leader certification will introduce you to new ideas and concepts. Gaining a comprehensive understanding of leader tasks will instill a greater sense of confidence in yourself.

Where do RBLP certified leaders work?
RBLP is our core leader certification. This certification is for managers responsible for one or more team’s morale, teamwork, motivation, and commitment. People who earn this certification can build and lead resilient teams.
Exam prep course required | 1.5-hour oral exam
RBLP-C is our coach certification. This certification is for managers with organizational improvement, innovation, and problem-solving responsibilities. Managers who earn this certification can coach teams through the experiential learning cycle.
Exam prep course required | 2.5-hour oral exam
RBLP-T is our trainer certification. This certification is for senior managers with organizational learning and development (L&D) responsibilities. Senior managers who earn this certification can teach authorized training courses that prepare people for the RBLP series of leader certification exams.
Exam prep course required | 3.5-hour oral exam
Our local partners teach the instructor-led Building and Leading Resilient Teams courses (3, 5, and 7 modules) that prepare you for the RBLP, RBLP-C, and RBLP-T certification exams. The partners below offer online courses with flexible start dates and schedules. Most also offer one-on-one training.

We developed the self-paced, online Leadership Fundamentals Course specifically for college students. This course will make you a better leader and more competitive for internships and jobs.
This course introduces college students to 21 core leadership tasks that everyone entering the workforce should understand. Course topics include Creating a Positive Climate, Developing Cohesion, and Providing Purpose. Audio versions of the lessons and bonus video content are also included.
The course cost is only $145. Complete the course to earn a certificate and digital badge.
The Newark, NJ metro area, extending beyond the urban core into the surrounding Sussex, Morris, and Hunterdon counties, represents a vibrant and diverse economic and cultural area. Covering a broad area of 2,181 square miles, ranging from bustling urban environments to serene rural landscapes. This part of the greater New York-Newark-Jersey City, NY-NJ-PA metropolitan region showcases a unique blend of geographic and demographic characteristics. The combined population of these areas reaches over 2.3 million residents, with the landscape spanning several hundred square miles of varied terrain, including thriving suburban communities, expansive agricultural lands, and undeveloped natural areas.
Geographically, the Newark metro area is diverse. Sussex County, the northernmost, is known for its protected state parks and recreational areas, such as High Point State Park, which includes the highest elevation in the state. Morris County features a blend of suburban development and natural reserves, with historical towns like Morristown that played significant roles during the Revolutionary War. Hunterdon County, with its rolling hills and rural vistas, is characterized by its agricultural activities and preserved farmlands, providing a stark contrast to the metropolitan aspects of Newark.
Economically, the Newark metro area is robust, driven by industries such as finance, healthcare, technology, and manufacturing. Major employers include Prudential Financial and Panasonic Corporation of North America in Newark, which serve as anchors for the area’s economy. Morris County hosts a significant corporate presence, with firms like Bayer Healthcare and Honeywell setting up headquarters there, benefiting from proximity to the urban hub while enjoying the lower-density setting. Hunterdon and Sussex counties, though more rural, contribute economically through agriculture and increasingly through tourism and local crafts.
Numerous esteemed institutions serve education in the Newark metro area. Rutgers University-Newark offers comprehensive programs in law, criminal justice, and the arts. The New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), also in Newark, is highly regarded for its engineering and technology programs. In Morris County, Drew University in Madison provides liberal arts education and several master’s programs in medical and health sciences. These educational institutions are not only significant employers in the area but also centers of cultural and intellectual activity.
Culturally, the Newark metro area is rich and varied. The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) and the Newark Museum of Art are central to Newark’s cultural scene, offering a wide range of performances from classical music to modern art exhibitions. Morris County’s Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown adds to the area’s cultural offerings with music, dance, and theatrical productions. Hunterdon and Sussex counties offer more localized cultural experiences, such as country fairs, local artisan shops, and historical sites that celebrate New Jersey’s heritage.

While Newark itself is near sports giants like the New Jersey Devils hockey team, the surrounding counties offer extensive outdoor activities.
