Heather Wells, CEO and Founder

Why train with us?

Heather Wells, the Founder, and CEO of WEN2K, retired from the United States Army following 30 years of service. WEN2K (pronounced when to k) is an acronym for “Who Else Needs to Know” and is rooted in the best practices and habits of information sharing.

As an intelligence professional, Heather adopted this behavior in her work and quickly realized its relevance well beyond her time in uniform. She established WEN2K in 2021 to serve people and communities through coaching, consulting, and as an authorized training partner with the Resilience-Building Leader Program.

We train others how to “Build and Lead Resilient Teams”. This training program is specifically designed to accommodate both new and seasoned supervisors, managers, and senior leaders. People who aspire to a leadership role may also participate.

Heather’s Army career assignments were primarily within joint and special operations organizations. From 1998 through 2022, she was fortunate to work within and lead large teams and organizations with all U.S. armed forces, countless national and international agencies, and several coalition partner armed forces from around the world. Working with numerous services, the nuances of national agencies and multicultural teams required deliberate actions and behaviors to build highly resilient teams successfully.

Heather is an International Coaching Federation-certified professional and business coach. She continues to serve as an internal coach for the Joint Special Operations Command and is employed to coach Duke University and the North Carolina Department of Labor employees. Heather is a graduate of Excelsior University and earned professional certificates from Cornell University, and the University of Louisville focused on Diversity and Inclusion, Women in Leadership, and Management Development. Before her retirement, Heather served as the Joint Special Operations Command Senior Advisor for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Board and Organizational Coaching Program.

A host of private and public sector organizations will benefit from RBLP based on the realistic and relevant content. The focus areas for WEN2K are the military services within the Department of Defense. However, we adamantly believe that all leaders should have access to this training, regardless of their profession.

The video below will aid in the understanding of resilience and resilience building. Why learning from mistakes, rebounding from failure, and facing adversity all lead to resilience. Raphael Rose starts the discussion of resilience from the perspective of being a NASA astronaut and leads into a series of experiences leading to resilience. https://youtu.be/Q7vYuKvpneM
