Resilience-Building Leadership Professional® (RBLP)

People who earn the Resilience-Building Leadership Professional® (RBLP) certification are qualified to build and lead resilient teams in the workplace by creating a positive climate, developing cohesion, and providing purpose.

RBLP is our core leader certification for supervisors and people seeking a supervisory position.

Supervisor Defined: For supervisors, leadership is mostly about guiding and motivating people to get the organization’s work done. They have hands-on the organization’s products and services, and they are in direct contact with customers, clients, and the public. Supervisors provide guidance and direction to workers. They set priorities for workers and oversee their activities. Supervisors organize people to work in teams and may work alongside subordinates as a member of the team. Supervisors monitor performance and enforce policies, rules, and regulations. They have applicable technical expertise and can provide on-the-job training to workers.

Applicants for RBLP leader certification must have at least two years of work and/or college experience.


Resilience-Building Leadership Professional® Coach (RBLP-C)

People who earn the Resilience-Building Leadership Professional® Coach (RBLP-C) certification are qualified to build and lead resilient teams in the workplace by creating a positive climate, developing cohesion, and providing purpose. They are also qualified to facilitate team learning.

RBLP-C certified leaders can coach others on these leader competencies.

RBLP-C is our leader certification for managers and people seeking a management position.

Manager Defined: For managers, leadership is about more than just making sure the work gets done. At this level, it’s also about maximizing the efforts of others. It’s about making sure that teams learn from their experience and continually get better at what they do. Managers are responsible for meeting objectives and key results. They may provide guidance and direction to one or more supervisors. Managers facilitate team learning and change. They establish goals for their teams and monitor progress. Managers have significant relevant expertise and experience. An organization may have multiple layers of management.


Resilience-Building Leadership Professional® Trainer (RBLP-T)

People who earn the Resilience-Building Leadership Professional® Trainer (RBLP-T) certification are qualified to build and lead resilient teams in the workplace by creating a positive climate, developing cohesion, and providing purpose. They are also qualified to facilitate team learning and support organizational learning.

RBLP-T certified leaders can coach others on these leader competencies and provide training that prepares people to sit for the RBLP, RBLP-C, and RBLP-T certification exams.

RBLP-T is our leader certification for senior managers and people seeking a senior management position.

Senior Manager Defined: For senior managers, leadership is about more than making sure teams learn from their experience. At this level, it’s also about creating a culture that supports the organization’s vision. It’s about making sure that organizations learn from their experience and continually get better at what they do. Senior managers are responsible for promoting a shared vision. They may provide guidance and direction to one or more managers. Senior managers support organizational learning and change. They develop and implement strategies to achieve organizational goals. Senior managers have substantial relevant expertise and experience. An organization may have multiple layers of senior management.


Education/Training Requirements


Education/Training for RBLP

Applicants for RBLP certification can complete self-study leader training (18 hours) focused on the Create a Positive Climate, Develop Cohesion, and Provide Purpose competency domains.

Applicants for RBLP certification also have the option of completing an approved leader training course (63 hours*) focused on the Create a Positive Climate, Develop Cohesion, Provide Purpose, Facilitate Team Learning and Support Organizational Learning competency domains.

The 7-week Building and Leading Resilient Teams course offered by our network of Education and Training Partners meets this requirement.

*The hours requirement includes 42 hours of student prep time and 21 contact hours with an instructor based on a class size of 10-12 students. Instructor contact hours may be reduced to 14 for a class size of 5-6 students or 7 hours for one-on-one training.

RBLP applicants who complete an approved Leader Training Course are not required to complete additional training before sitting for the RBLP-C or RBLP-T certification exams. Proof of meeting the education/training requirement for certification is uploaded during exam scheduling.

Exam for RBLP

During the 1.5-hour oral RBLP exam, the applicant is required to show competence in factual (what), conceptual (why), and procedural knowledge (how) in the Create a Positive Climate, Develop Cohesion, and Provide Purpose competency domains. The Facilitate Team Learning and Support Organizational Learning competency domains are not assessed for RBLP leader certification.

The RBLP certification exam is $875. We administer oral certification exams via Microsoft Teams video conference. No special software downloads are required.


Exam for RBLP-C

During the 2.5-hour oral RBLP-C exam, the applicant is required to show competence in factual (what), conceptual (why), and procedural knowledge (how) in the Create a Positive Climate, Develop Cohesion, Provide Purpose, and Facilitate Team Learning competency domains. The Support Organizational Learning competency domain is not assessed for RBLP-C leader certification.

The RBLP-C certification exam is $1575. We administer oral certification exams via Microsoft Teams video conference. No special software downloads are required.

During the 3.5-hour oral RBLP-T exam, the applicant is required to show competence in factual (what), conceptual (why), and procedural knowledge (how) in the Create a Positive Climate, Develop Cohesion, Provide Purpose, Facilitate Team Learning, and Support Organizational Learning competency domains.

The RBLP-T certification exam is $2375. We administer oral certification exams via Microsoft Teams video conference. No special software downloads are required.

Recertification Requirements


Recertification for RBLP

Recertification is required every three years to maintain the RBLP leader certification. RBLP certified leaders are required to complete a Recertification Application with a professional development exercise detailing how they have implemented applicable leader tasks in the workplace during the previous three years. The RBLP recertification fee is currently $55.


Recertification for RBLP-C

Recertification is required every three years to maintain the RBLP-C leader certification. Certification holders are required to complete a Recertification Application with a professional development exercise detailing how they have implemented applicable leader tasks in the workplace during the previous three years. The RBLP-C recertification fee is currently $75.


Recertification for RBLP-T

Recertification is required every three years to maintain the RBLP-T leader certification. Certification holders are required to complete a Recertification Application with a professional development exercise detailing how they have implemented applicable leader tasks in the workplace during the previous three years. The RBLP-T recertification fee is currently $95.
